Kyle Loney, MC, RCC, CCC, LCT-C
Kyle is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who stands out through his blend of a warm but intentional approach. Born and raised in Kelowna, Kyle has a connection to the city and the unique difficulties that individuals face within it. Through his volunteering, work in the service industry, and experience as a client himself, Kyle has developed a therapeutic approach that is client-centered and goal-focused.
Kyle believes that life is a journey to learn and grow through, but that growth cannot happen in environments that don’t allow it. He therefore focuses on creating a space that clients can explore within, and help them find the tools to find and create more similar spaces within their lives. Kyle believes that a life well-lived stems from feeling fully, living connected, and acting consciously.
His approach focuses on understanding the client fully: what their challenges are, as well as their successes. Kyle blends Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves and control over their actions and reactions. A trauma-focused approach and continual focus on the client’s goals allows Kyle to keep clients motivated and making forward progress.
Kyle offers both in-person and virtual sessions for psychotherapy in Kelowna, BC, and specializes in clients dealing with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Health Anxiety, and relational issues including Perfectionism and People-Pleasing. His warm and empowering approach helps clients feel comfortable enough to get into the sometimes-difficult work of getting back to where they want to be. If you are ready to get back to You, reach out to Kyle today.
